Customer: Hello, I would like to order a beautiful long, full hair style, slimmer thighs, higher cheekbones, a tummy tuck and a little liposuction please. Oh, and don?t forget the face lift, I hear it is on sale!

Nowadays, natural beauty can be purchased and in most cases, no one will know the difference. In the example of the beautiful long, full hair style, modern day human hair extensions offer the utmost beautiful hair for just about anyone that wants longer, fuller or highlighted hair.

Dino Dondiego, founder of Sequence Hair in Englewood, New Jersey, has developed a new technique for adding hair for length and volume. Dondiego has been working with hair extensions for over 3 decades and has attached them using just about every method available on the market. He categorizes current methods of adding hair into three different areas, weaving, extensions and hair systems.

The first area is weaving, where a track is made horizontally with the natural hair (created by braiding the natural hair) and the human hair is sewn into the track in wefts or individual hair. (A weft is a tiny little curtain of hair that is attached together at the top) This method was derived from African American salons in the U.S. that use to corn braid the hair and sew wefts into the braids. Dondiego says there are limitations with this method because the weft that is sewn in can be hard to hide and the client cannot wear his/her hair in certain ways and there can also be a build up of hair care products and dirt in the tracks. Removal of the wefts can also pull out the natural hair.

The second area is extensions. This method was also derived from African American salons that started braiding individual human hairs into the clients braided hair. Extensions offer a more natural, free-flowing look and have become widely accepted as a way to add l! ength, v olume and highlights to your hair. Dondiego saw limitations to many extension methods. Many methods advertise strand by strand hair extensions, when in reality they are attaching chunks of hair at a time, causing undue stress on the natural hair and also creating an unnatural look. Other methods use adhesive materials that can damage the natural hair.

The third area is the hair system. These systems consist of hair pieces that are sewn or bonded to the scalp. Some can include nets that the natural hair is pulled thru to blend in with the human hair attached to the net. Limitations to these integrated hair systems are that you will need a lot of hair to hide the nets.

As Dondiego worked with each method, realized the limitations, he decided to reverse engineer the way human hair grows out of the scalp. He determined that the most logical way to add hair would be to mimic the way human hair grows, randomly and one at a time. However, it is unfeasible to have a client sit in a chair while one human hair is added in a random pattern. This would take a very long time to finish.

Dondiego developed a technique called Hair Blending? that allows him to add one human hair at a time in a random fashion. Hair Blending? involves the use a special filament string, called a Sequence Blending Strand? that has the same thickness of one human hair, but is much stronger than human hair. The blending strands are transparent and blend into the tone of hair and skin. They are hard to see with the naked eye. Human hairs are attached by hand, one at a time to the Sequence Blending Strand? with a specially designed instrument that has a fine hook on the end.

When a client first comes to the Sequence Hair offices in New Jersey, Dondiego determines exactly how much hair will be needed for the client. Color and texture of the hair is also determined. Then the client must wait for 6 weeks while his/her Sequence Blending Strands are custom designed.

After completion, the customized Sequen! ce Blend ing Strands are attached to the clients? natural hair using a linking system. Each Sequence Blending Strand? is wrapped around 5 or 6 strands of the natural hair and secured with a tiny little anchor the size of a pin head. It sort of looks like tiny little pony tails. The blending strands are very fine and light, leaving the scalp open to breathe. It can take between 3-4 hours to blend in a full head of hair.

Clients must return every month or so (depending on how fast their hair grows) to have the hair re-secured. The Hair Blending Strands do not need to be removed. The system can last between 3-4 years.

Dondiego concludes that Hair Blending is one of the safest ways to add hair since it leaves the scalp open to breath and does not add too much stress to the natural hair. He adds that, ?No method is 100% safe and anyone that adds hair must take proper care of it. Because the more hair you have the more work you need.?

Hair Blending? by Sequence Hair is only available at the New Jersey Office. Expansion plans are in the works for certifying salons nationwide to do Hair Blending. For additional information on Sequence Hair Blending, see http://www.sequencehair.com , or call 1.888.BLEND.88

Why Is Bird Flu Of Such Concern?

With bird flu dominating the news lately, it has left many people wondering why it is such a concern. An outbreak of a virus in Asia may seem like it would have little impact on our daily lives; yet many people have become obsessed with the disease. Is it possible there may be more than meets the eye with bird flu?

Bird Flu, also known as avian influenza, is not a new virus; it has actually been around since the early 1900?s. So why the big scare? A particular strand of the virus, H5N1, has been contracted by several humans, over 100 people, and led to the death of over half of those infected. Since most of the types of this virus only affect birds and some other animals, it was of concern when people started contracting the disease in the first place. Likewise, when so many people died as a result, concern was replaced with apprehension. Now, however, an even larger crisis may be at hand.

With the increase in the spread of the virus, many are worried that a pandemic will start as a result ? basically a global plague sweeping across the world. Information regarding a pandemic and other contamination issues of bird flu is available in ebook 2 of ?A Guide to Bird Flu and How to Avoid Catching It.? For a pandemic to occur, three things must take place: a new virus must emerge, it causes serious illness in humans, and is easily spread among humans. The first two on this list have already taken place. This strand of the virus is new to humans and it causes very serious illness among those infected. However, because the virus has primarily been passed from birds to humans, and not by human to human contact, the third condition has not yet been fulfilled.

The concern is that, because the virus is infecting humans, it will mutate to the point that human transmission takes place on a wide scale. The more people it infects, the more opportunity it has to mutate. If this should happen, containing the disease will be almost impossible. Also, because there is little available in th! e way of treatment, many people will die as a result.

Many Americans are not concerned because the outbreaks have only occurred in Asia at this point. However, even in Asia, the virus is spreading rapidly. Also, with international travel so commonplace, once human transmission is possible, the virus will know no bounds, especially not geographically. Much like AIDS, it will devastate the world, consuming people of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds.

How To Beat Depression

In this article I write about my personal experiences with depression and about how I have learnt to cope and to even eradicate it. I am sure that I am not alone in the fact that I have regular periods of my life when I am depressed, but knowing this fact does not make it any easier for me. I hope you enjoy reading the article.

I have recently spoken to my parents about the subject of my depression. My mother has said that she thinks we have some kind of depression gene as most of our family suffer from similar symptoms.

I have as recently as last week suffered with a severe bout of this depression, however from it I learnt a valuable lesson. I had been having a bad period in my life where seemingly everything was going wrong. It was one kick in the teeth after each other. I had nothing to look forward to and decided that I needed a night out with my friends. There was one intention that I had in mind which was to get as drunk as possible.

The next day I felt really ill and hungover after having a very late night and as planned a huge amount of alcohol. For the whole day I struggled to stay awake and as the day wore on I became more and more depressed. The negative side of my brain had taken over my whole head and it seemed like there was a whole bunch of negative chemicals running through my body.

The lesson I have learnt is that is not a good idea to go out drinking alcohol if you are feeling low and depressed.

When I was speaking to my parents about my latest period of anxiety and depression, they gave me some interesting and useful advice. They asked me to think about all of the things and aspects of my life that were getting me down. What I then needed to do was to talk about them and to think positive by attempting to find solutions to each of these problems.

This is not at all easy to do but is something I now try. I have realised that it is good to talk about our fears and phobias and that there is nothing wrong with admitting that you are stressed and depre! ssed.

I hope I will not have to live with these regular bouts of depression for the rest of my life as I have to say I hate it, especially when it means I can not get any sleep during a night, which happens quite regularly for me. I will however look for more ways of beating my depression when it does occur.

I now try to think positive in all situations, life is far too short to be always worrying about everything. I have also started to read a lot of self-help books, these have taught me quite a lot of new things and have given me many new ideas.
